DAAD scholarships for the academic year 2018/19

This year DAAD offer offers a “Postdoctoral Researchers’ Networking Tour” for postdocs from Materials Science and Nanotechnology.

     Here you can find information on various kinds of DAAD funding for foreign students, graduates and postdocs as well as on funding offered by other selected organisations.

     Please note, that you have to submit your application online via the DAAD portal. The access to the DAAD portal generally opens about 6 weeks before the application deadline at the latest.

    The funding includes:

• a practice orientated and diverse programme to suit the requirements of the participants
• coverage of programme related costs in Germany (accommodation, domestic travel, most meals)
• a lump sum travel allowance if such costs are not borne by a third party. This will also be provided if the stay is extended by up to five working days in order to allow for additional professional networking.

II.    Afterthoughts: DAAD Regional Alumni Meeting “Environment and Health”, 26-28 may 2017 in Hanoi/Vietnam

It’s all about life” …

About 200 alumni from 9 countries the South-East Asia met for the Regional Alumni Meeting “Environment & Health” from 26 to 28 May 2017 in Hanoi, Vietnam. In addition to six workshops, 14 talks and lectures, from the German ambassador to Vietnam Christian Berger, the President of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology Hoang Minh Son, and Secretary-General of the German Academic Exchange Service Dorothea Rueland, the participants had the possibility to engage in an exchange and lively discussions about the topic of environment and health.  The need for cross-border co-operation in the field of environmental protection has become particularly clear: the participants did not miss an opportunity to exchange new ideas and projects and to network.

 DAAD Alumni, join the competition “Green Champions of South-East Asia”!

The DAAD Regional Alumni Meeting on “Environment and Health” had a first very concrete result: 
On the initiative of the environmental scientist and keynote speaker Ajantha Perera, the one-year competition "Green Champions of South-East Asia" launched at the World Environment Day on June 5th. DAAD alumni from the region can apply for this contest with their project.

Registration deadline for projects is 5 August, 2017.
