Educational Counselor - Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam visits and works with Hong Duc University

  On 28th December, 2017, the Delegation from Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam, Led by Mr. Li Ming - Educational Counselor, visited and worked with Hong Duc University. Other delegates consist of Mr. Tony Lin- Head of International Cooperation Division, Chungyu University of Cinematography and Arts; Mr. Shin Yu Chang - Head of International Cooperation Division, Leeming Institute of Science and Technology. On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh An - Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Mai - Vice Rector and representatives of relevant functional Units gave a warm welcome to the Delegation

At the meeting, Mrs. Hoang Thi Mai presented the brief overview of Hong Duc University’s history and development phases and proposed some cooperative programs in joint training and exchange of faculty/students. In addition, the Board of Rectors was highly interested in the scholarship programs; paid internship programs; student exchange programs offered by Chungyu University of Cinematography and Arts and Leeming Institute of Science and Technology in cooperation with local enterprises/companies.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Counselor informed HDU of the cooperative opportunities including the scholarship packages offered by the two governments and Taiwanese universities' admission information. As such, Vietnamese students will be facilitated to study in Taiwan. He also introduced the Chinese language teaching programs; application process for Chinese language exams and encouraged students to take such exams. Moreover, Mr. Li Ming was eager to share the information on short-term research activities and the Taiwan-Vietnam educational programs for Vietnamese talents and to encourage Taiwanese and Vietnamese educators to attend cultural and academic exchange activities for the purpose of fostering bilateral educational cooperation.

 

At the meeting, both two sides exchanged discussions on strengths of the universities and reached consensus on contents of training cooperation agreement, staff/ faculty/students exchange programs and scholarships for students.

The meeting was a great success which has opened a range of learning and research opportunities to faculty and students, simultaneously contributing to bolstering international cooperation activities and consolidating the prestige and position of HDU in years to come./.
