GENERAL INTRODUCTION OF THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, HONG DUC UNIVERSITY

Faculty of Economics and Business Administration is one of the first 10 faculties of Hong Duc University, established in 1997 on the basis of merging the Faculty of Finance - Accounting (Provincial School of Finance), Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Provincial School of Economics - Planning) and Thanh Hoa College of Economics - Technology. After 23 years of establishment (with a tradition of more than 50 years of training) the faculty has continuously developed and has made many contributions to the economic and business administration human resources in order to serve the socio-economic development of Thanh Hoa province in particular and Vietnam in general.

Faculty of Economics and Business Administration was allowed by the Ministry of Education and Training to enroll undergraduate students from the 2002-2003 school year, along with the development of the school, until the 2020-2021 school year, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration is being assigned to train following degrees:

•                     Bachelor of Business Administration;

•                     Bachelor of Accounting;

•                     Bachelor of Banking and Finance;

•                     Bachelor of Economics;

•                     Bachelor of Auditing;

•                     Master of Business Administration;

•                     Master of Accounting.

Since the faculty’s inception, its number of teachers and staff was only 27 people, of which mainly professional intermediate teachers, a few are university lecturers and researchers; with a large scale of training of 482 students, in which college level with 386 students and intermediate level with 96 students. From December 31, 2020 to present, the total number of the teachers and staff is 65 people. In which, there are 59 lecturers including 03 Associate Professors (accounting for 5%), 28 PhDs (accounting for 47.5%) and 28 Masters (accounting for 47.5%). The Faculty has many lecturers who graduated from famous Universities in many countries around the world such as the United Kingdom, France, New Zealand, Australia, etc. Many staff and lecturers with foreign language qualifications can work directly with foreigners; the scale of training is over 2,000 learners, including masters and university degrees.

The faculty has been equipped with 01 virtual accounting practice room; 01 virtual banking room, 02 computer accounting classrooms, 01 student supermarket model which are enough to meet the requirements of professional skills training for students.

Along with training activities, scientific research activities for training and socio-economic development of the Faculty have also been paid attention to. The Faculty has successfully organized many Scientific Conferences; publish dozens of textbooks, lecture notes, reference materials; published hundreds of articles in domestic and foreign scientific journals; Ministerial scientific projects, Provincial scientific projects and other scientific projects.

After more than 23 years of construction and development, the Faculty has 7 affiliated units including 6 subjects (Business Administration Subject, Economics Subject, Financial Accounting Subject, Management Accounting Subject, Banking and Finance Subject, Statistics – Econometrics Subject) and 01 training center (Economic management Training Center).
