“Never be the second” is the best description about Dao. That’s because he always gets the best result for whatever he does

During his time studying at Lam Son Gifted High School, Dao achieved much in his studies and extracurricular activities, including winning a Bronze medal in the International Physics Olympiad while he was in the 11th grade. Because of these distinctions, Dao decided to join our province’s project about sending students to the developed countries.

 “I believe that if you want to learn English well, you cannot wait for your teacher to put knowledge into your head. You have to take charge of your own studying.” Dao shares his experience in the recent talk with us. “You must try to pronounce everything correctly from the beginning. Don’t be embarrassed when making mistakes. Always be confident when speaking.”

Not only is his past academic performance outstanding, but his current studies at the University of Oklahoma (OU) in the United States. During his short period at OU, Dao has proven his ability to adapt to this new collegiate environment. He has received recognition from the college and has been put on OU’s Presidential Honor Role for his 4.0 GPA. He has also attained a perfect score on all of his SAT subject Tests.

“The United States would not only help me to reach another level in my academic career, but also help me reach my full potential as an individual.” Dao said. “Only in the United States will I be truly able to reach the future. Day by day I make an effort to adapt myself to the streamlining of globalization. However, one thing I keep in my heart is integrating, but not dissolving. Our past discoveries, treasured beliefs, and diverse culture have proven to significantly impact our present days innovation and technology.”

Finally, Dao reveals some secrets about his future to us. “Earning a PhD in the United States is my future plan, but I always want to contribute some small effort to the development of Vietnam and especially my hometown Thanh Hoa. That dream will not stop regardless of wherever I find myself.”
