Announcement on conclusion of the meeting between Hong Duc University (HDU) and English Language Fellow (ELF), US Embassy

 On August 23^rd, 2017, on behalf of Board of Rectors, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Mai, Vice Rector received ELF-Mr. Kevin Peter Gilman, US Embassy to work at HDU for 10 months beginning in August, 2017. At the meeting, two sides exchanged their views on work schedule and living conditions. Until now, University has refurbished the guest room 212, N2 of dormitory, main campus and installed necessary equipment however some items have been still under refurbishment. University also agreed with ELF on teaching schedule and content.

In order to assist ELF to stabilize his life and accomplish his teaching at University, the Rector assigned tasks as follows:

For ELF’s accommodation and office: 

+ Division of Materials and Equipment Administration: continuing to repair the kitchen for rain prevention and improve the water storage tank by September 23^rd, 2017.

+ Domestic Management Board is in charge of fixing room equipment to ensure that all is in good operation, sending 1 staff to clean up the ELF’s room once every two weeks at around 3pm on Friday afternoon, cooperating with Medical Station, Guard Board to guarantee safety and security for ELF during his stay at HDU. 

+ Division of International Cooperation and Faculty of Foreign Languages (FFL) arrange a working desk for ELF at R.712, Administrative Building and at FFL.

For teaching schedule at Faculty of Foreign Languages: Division of Training Management supervises ELF’s 12 teaching sessions/week at FFL. FFL would draw attendance schedule to learn teaching knowledge and methods from ELF. FFL would also work with ELF to examine using English textbooks, then making a report to Board of Rectors before September 15^th, 2017 via Division of Training Management and Division of International Cooperation.

As for designing Economic, math and physic textbooks:  International Education Center is assigned to cooperate with ELF,  Division of International Cooperation and relevant units for  a consensus on specific schedule, time, content and results which are expected to submit to Board of Rector before September 15^th , 2017 via Division of International Cooperation.

Open an English communication class for staff and faculty: DIC is responsible for English Communication Class opening announcement occurred weekly on Thursday and making a registration list. Division of Organization and Personnel would issue Decision of Class Opening. IEC would prepare for textbooks and send a teaching assistant (if needed). Opening time would be on September 14^th , 2017.

English class for high-school teachers: ICD would make a plan for starting an English Class for high-school teachers in May, 2018.

Teaching Vietnamese for ELF: Social Science Faculty would send a lecturer teaching Vietnamese for ELF for 3 teaching session/week. Total teaching sessions: 90 

Temporary residence and absence management: Division of International Cooperation would assign a staff to manage temporary residence and absence process as well as exit and entry activities, then make a report in accordance with National regulations and laws.
