On January 28, 2013, the Hong Duc university, under the leadership of PhD. Nguyen Manh An-the Rector, worked with the delegation from the Victoria University of Wellington, led by Mr. Jeff Howe – the director of international cooperation program.

The Victoria University is located in the capital Wellington of New Zealand. Victoria began teaching as Victoria College in 1897. The university was named after the Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. With its 116 years of rich history, Victoria University is one of New Zealand’s oldest and most prestigious tertiary institutions with a proud tradition of academic excellence. VUW has attracted over 20.000 international students attending the University from all corners of the world, of which 3000 students come from Vietnam. VUW is noted for research and training programs which establish the reputation to stand out among other tertiary institutions of Wellington. The University is also in the advantageous location, close to New Zealand’s cultural and political centers and national library.

Two sides worked well together in swapping reciprocal necessary information, simultaneously discussing  criteria about sending the participants of Project “Jointly training human resources at undergraduate and postgraduate degrees with overseas universities” to study at VUW, according to the memorandum of understanding signed between two Universities. As the result, Hong Duc University will facilitate the participants to study the majors seen as the University’s strength, particularly Financial Management in the Public Sector and Social Policy. Meanwhile, the VUW also committed to subsidize 50% and 100% tuition fee of 3-month English course for Masters and PhDs respectively who would like to study at Victoria with 6.0 IELTS only.

The working session also witnessed the presence of Project participants with a range of questions and answers from two sides.
