Hong Duc University works with the Mayor of Sedot Negev, Israel and OLECO Company

On 5, April, 2016, the delegation including the Mayor of Sedot Negev and Overseas Labour Employment, Service and Construction Joint Stock Company (OLECO) led by Mr. Nguyen Phu Toan, Deputy Director has worked with the representatives of Hong Duc University led by Dr. Hoang Nam, Vice Rector.

 At the meeting, Mr. Tamir Idam, the Mayor of Sedot Negev introduced some information about Israel and the program of training cooperation and agricultural internship in Israel. Israel is situated in the Middle East at the southeastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea and the northern shore of the Gulf of Aqaba in the Red Sea. It shares land borders with Lebanon to the North, Syria in the Northeast, Jordan in the East, the Palestinian territories comprising the West Bank and Gaza Strip to the east and west, respectively, and Egypt to the southwest. The area is about 22,000 km2. Natural conditions here are extremely harsh. Two thirds of the territory is desert and the rest is barren rocky hills where the climate is very arid. However, Israel has a highly developed market economy, especially in the field of agriculture with world leading technologies. Per capita income 28.000USD/ year, GDP in 2011 reached 220 billion US dollars, ranking among the world's most developed countries.

On the side of Hong Duc University, Dr. Hoang Nam introduced briefly about the process of establishing and developing the university. After that, two sides discussed the implementation of sending college students in agriculture, biology and environmental technologies to do an internship in Israel, according to the cooperation program between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam and the Ministry of Agriculture State of Israel. The program aims at upgrading the knowledge and practical skills for students of agriculture, helping them apply these skills into the agriculture in Vietnam. Moreover, students also receive an allowance for learning English.       

On the same day, Mr. Tamir Idam and OLECO Company joined the Conference of Recruitment intended for students of cooperative programs and training of agricultural practice in Israel, meeting juniors and seniors of Hong Duc University. At the Conference, the representative of OLECO Company presented the program and documentary about agricultural practices on farms in Israel. The Mayor of Sedot Negev and Mr. Toan directly answerred questions from the students to help them gain the better understanding of this cooperation program./.
