Hong Duc University worked with Soongsil University and Viet Pan-Pacific Limited Company, Korea in Thanh Hoa

On 28, November 2014, Hong Duc University, led by Dr. Hoang Nam, had a working session with Soongsil University, Korea and Viet Pan-Pacific Limited Company, Korea in Thanh Hoa.

 The University of Soongsil is the oldest university in Korea which was founded in 1897. Over 15000 students and 600 officers and lecturers are currently choosing to study and work at the University, which offers a broad spectrum of study areas  such as natural sciences, social sciences and humanity, laws, economics and international business,  business management, finance, education , technique and technology. The Universities of Hong Duc and Soongsil  are also cooperating to build the training programmes on Master in International Business Management and on the Korean language at Hong Duc University.

Pan-Pacific is a multinational corporation, established in June 1972, which specializes in producing creative, high-quality garments under the motto “fair competition, continuous innovation, and growing with customers.” The company has reached an annual exporting turnover of $170 millions to the large markets such as US, Europe and Japan. Company’s factories are currently under construction in China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia. In Vietnam, Pan-Pacific is building its factories in Ha Tay, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh.  The company is currently investing in the construction of a factory in Ngoc Lac, Thanh Hoa, which is predictably completed in the period I, by September 2015 with the recruiting demand for 1500-2000 workers. This is seen as a big job opportunity for the students in searching professions in accordance with knowledge of specialization and skills they are trained at Hong Duc University.

Three parties, after a discussion, were unanimous in signing The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the following articles:

1 - Between the universities of Hong Duc and Soongsil: continuingly carry out the Korean teaching programme in Thanh Hoa; the mutual exchange programme of officers, lecturers and students; the cooperative programme in scientific research and technological transformation; cooperative training programmes; the exchange of information, documents, scientific magazines, publications and detailed drafts of academic disciplines.

2 - Between Hong Duc University and Viet Pan Pacific Limited Company: the company is responsible for setting the competency standards for students so that Hong Duc University can train students to be qualified workforce which meets well the Company’s job requirements; simultaneously giving priority to the recruitment of the student trained in the framework of bilateral cooperation and receiving Hong Duc students to have trial working course at Company’s manufacturing factories.

The triple working session helped enhance the mutual understanding and open up the cooperative prospects in Korean teaching in Thanh Hoa and the cooperation between the University of Hong Duc and enterprises to satisfy the needs of job markets in and out of the Thanh Hoa Province.
