The conference focused on two main issues: understanding what environmental education is and how it fits into teaching about the environmen? And How art can be used to teach about environmental issues?

Staff and pre-school and primary education teachers were invited to attend workshops on sustainable environmental education which provided them with the necessary knowledge and skills to use common objects and supplies to make art activities for their students. They then learned how to teach these activities to younger students and create a teacher’s guide so other may use it. In addition, attendees were also taught how to sort out and recycle trash, how to use waste food and trash to make organic fertilizer, and how to make a room for a green school garden.

On the last day of conference, HDU organized a festival with lots of art activities, game shows, and plays created and led by workshop attendees. The festival was also a great opportunity for the organizing board to send a message about environmental conservation to younger generations that hope to help shape a sustainable future through art activities.

The conference was a huge success and the attendees greatly enjoyed the workshops.
